Google Earth Review
Google Earth Review
Google Earth presents a new way to look at the world.
The Good
- It’s free
- It’s easy for anyone to use
- You can see 3D maps of practically any location on earth
- You can get directions to and from any place on earth
- You can print, email and share images from Google Earth
- It shows restaurants, banks, hospitals and other landmarks on the mapping system
The Bad
The downside is that it can only be used on Windows 2000 and XP and that many of the satellite images are blurry. Locations within the United States mostly come out very crisp and clear but many other countries or remote locations are not seen well and come out as a blur. It also uses a lot of bandwidth to run.
Overall
Overall, Google Earth is an interesting program for sure. It allows you to see the world without ever having to leave your desk. It has been used as a learning tool and some people just find it quite addictive to sit and view various parts of the world. You can see 3D terrain mapping of places like Hoover Dam or the Grand Canyon and you can visit the world’s landmarks. The downside is that some older systems may not be able to run it well and some locations are not seen well by the satellites.
